Crafty Geek v2 GamePlay - Lost
Crafty Geek was the predecessor to AmpCraft, Founded on July 2 of 2016.
It started as just a simple SkyBlock server (back when SkyBlock was somewhat simple lol) with one goal, replicate the gameplay experience of the at the time recently defunct LichCraft. Rushed from the start Crafty Geek SkyBlock Opened its doors only a month later in August Of 2016. However Crafty Geek SkyBlock (now referred to as Version 1) ended up closing its doors 3 months after opening in November Of 2016. This would not deter the original development staff as this failure had sent them back to the drawing board. On March 26th of 2017 Geek1243 (Zach) uploaded a preview of the fully overhauled New Crafty Geek Network (Version 2). Learning from their past mistakes and pushing for expansion, Crafty Geek had expanded past Skyblock. Hosting Game Modes like Factions, Survival, And SkyBlock along with Minigames Like Block Hunt, Geek-Ops, SkyWars, and more. Unfortunately The Backend Of V2 wasn't designed to run a multi-gamemode-network and Crafty Geek V2 ended up closing its doors 8 months after launch. Finally that brings us to Crafty Geek V3 & V4. Version 3 was a complete rebuild of V2 utilizing the Waterfall proxy To allow for a stable multi-gamemode-network experience. However aside from the teaser trailer released on January 30th of 2018 and a few Livestreams where Geek1243 (Zach) opened the server to his viewers to test, Version 3 was never launched and development ceased around march of 2018. There were plans in 2019 to give Crafty Geek one last shot at life but they never materialized.

On a snow day in March AmpCraft was born!
Bored & stuck home from school Geek1243 (Zach) and _TheKermit_ (Andrew) decide they want to play some good old vanilla survival with a few friends. The decided on world generator settings and Geek1243 (Zach) spins up what soon became AmpCraft. You see Geek1243 (Zach) made one little mistake while configuring the world, he accidently set the world generator type to Amplified leading to the server gaining the Nickname "amp craft". AmpCraft would go on to grow its small invite only community to friends, classmates, students from other local high schools. Its main draw at the time was their commitment to an "as close to vanilla as possible" model for the SMP and the invite only nature of the server. AmpCraft continued as an invite only SMP till 2023 when Geek1243 (Zach) and Epic Wizard decided to expand and add a hub, bedwars, and a modded server. Sadly AmpCraft would close its doors later in 2024 as all the members of the dev team slowly stepped away due to irl commitments. That brings us to June of 2025, Geek had been teasing a relaunch and finally AmpCraft was back. Shortly after this relaunch Jericho8000 (Josh) and P4NDARAIN (Hailey) joined the staff team helping accelerate AmpCraft into its first PUBLIC launch. And that's it, your all caught up on the almost 10 year ride that led to where AmpCraft is today. Just imagine where we'll be in another 10 years!
